What is ExcelDriving G1?
ExcelDriving G1 is a free mobile app designed to help Ontario residents prepare for the G1 knowledge test administered by the Ministry of Transportation Ontario (MTO). It covers 352 questions across all commonly tested topics from the official Driver's Handbook 2026.
Is the content up to date?
All questions are based on the Ontario MTO Driver's Handbook 2026. We review content regularly to reflect any rule changes in Ontario. Always consult the official MTO handbook as the primary reference before your test.
How do I switch to French?
Tap the Settings tab (gear icon), then under Appearance select Langue → Français. The entire app — all questions and UI — will update immediately.
How does Smart Learning work?
After each practice session, the app tracks which questions you answered incorrectly. The Smart Learning engine surfaces those questions again using spaced repetition so you focus on what you need to improve. You can also bookmark any question for later review.
My progress disappeared — what happened?
Progress is stored locally on your device. If you deleted and re-installed the app, progress is reset. We recommend keeping the app installed until after your test. A future update may add cloud backup.
What is the passing score for the real G1 test?
- Full test (40 questions): 80% = 32 correct answers
- Short form (20 questions): 80% = 16 correct answers
