1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the ExcelCitizen application ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the App.

2. License Grant

Curious Dev grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial educational purposes, subject to these Terms of Use.

            You MAY:
            Use the App on devices you own or control
Use the App for personal study and citizenship test preparation
Share the App with family members for educational use
Switch between English and French content freely

        

3. Restrictions

You may NOT:

Copy, modify, or distribute the App or its content
Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
Use the App for commercial purposes without written permission
Remove or alter any copyright notices or proprietary markings
Use the App in any way that violates applicable laws
Share, resell, or redistribute question content from the App

4. Intellectual Property

The App and all its contents, including but not limited to:

Questions, answers, and explanations (in English and French)
User interface design and graphics
Icons, logos, and branding elements
Source code and software
Documentation and educational materials

are the exclusive property of Curious Dev and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

5. Educational Content Disclaimer

The questions and content in this App are designed for practice purposes only. They are created independently based on publicly available materials, including the official Discover Canada: The Rights and Responsibilities of Citizenship study guide published by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

This App is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), the Government of Canada, or any official testing authority. "Canadian Citizenship Test" is referenced for descriptive purposes only.

6. No Warranty

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. CURIOUS DEV DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

Merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose
Accuracy or completeness of content
Non-infringement of third-party rights
Uninterrupted or error-free operation
Guarantee of passing the official citizenship test

7. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CURIOUS DEV SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

Loss of data or progress
Test performance or results
Device compatibility issues
Any reliance on App content

8. Updates and Modifications

Curious Dev reserves the right to:

Update, modify, or discontinue the App at any time
Change these Terms of Use with notice through the App or website
Add, remove, or modify features and content

Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.

9. Termination

Your license to use the App will terminate automatically if you fail to comply with these Terms of Use. Upon termination, you must cease all use of the App and delete it from your devices.

10. Governing Law

These Terms of Use shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

11. Open Source Acknowledgments

ExcelCitizen is built using Flutter, an open-source UI toolkit by Google. The App may include other open-source software components, each governed by their respective licences.
